Months have passed since the official announcement that MGM would start over again when it comes to the Tomb Raider film franchise. The cinematic adaptation of the popular video game once had Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in two features that resulted in box office figures around $400 million worldwide and now producer Graham King will hit the reset button giving Lara Croft a new start in film.
The news just broke that Warner Bros will join MGM in producing and distributing the film as well as announce that the new Tomb Raider feature has hired a screenwriter.
Evan Daugherty has been set to script Tomb Raider, the reboot of the video game property with the fetching heroine. Daugherty’s recent work includes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Divergent, Snow White And The Huntsman and G.I. Joe 3.
As of now, Daugherty is the only known member of the crew on this project. There is no word on who is being circled as the director nor who the candidates are to become the new Lara Croft.
