On the promotional trail for his latest summer blockbuster, Public Enemies, Johnny Deep briefly spoke with MTV about the possibility of making a cameo appearance in the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street. With Superbad star Jonah Hill working on a treatment and producing the film, Deep stated, “If we find the right thing to do, it could be very funny. ” He also added, “It sounds like a great idea…It’d be hilarious.”
Hill mentioned the probability during the MTV Movies Awards weeks ago:
We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo. I talked to his agent a few times. I’ve never met the man. He probably won’t do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he’d be proud of, and it’s a real crowd pleaser. It’s not cheesy,” he stated at that time.
If your gonna get a cameo for the film, you can’t go wrong with getting Richard Grieco. Mickey Rourke is doing great things, even Eric Roberts got a worthy role in the Dark Knight. Let’s bring back all the F’ups!
