Lex Luthor
Sometimes cast as a jilted friend, corrupt businessman, mad scientist, and even power-hungry megalomaniac, Luther not only serves as Superman’s biggest threat, but also one of the most diabolical comic book villains of all time. What makes him so delectably sinister is his embodiment for one of Satan’s favorite sins: Vanity. Luthor seeks to push humanity to its greatest potential, where he stands atop of the food chain of course. Superman on the other hand represents all that mankind cannot be and so humans rely on him to save them. And it is this battle that makes them at their core, adversaries. The supernatural being who just wants to be accepted as a human and the human who wishes to exceed his limits.
