General Zod

Whether a military criminal, revolutionary, or former rogue Kryptonian General—Zod has plagued Superman from the very beginning. While his origins change from time to time, the premise of this feud remains intact. Being of Kryptonian descent, Earth’s yellow sun blesses him with the same powers as Superman, bringing up the aged old question: Why serve when you have the power to rule? This puts him and Superman on a collision course. Zod’s probably most famous from his appearance in Superman II, which was gracefully acted by thespian Terrence Stamp. Kent’s archenemy soon became a household name with lines like, “Come, son of Jor-El! Kneel before Zod! ZOD!” and the ever famous exchange in the White House:

General Zod: Who is this imbecile? Where is he?
President: I wish I knew.
[kneels]
President: Oh God.
General Zod: Zod!

Superman Darkseid

Darkseid

A member of the god-like beings known as the New Gods, Darkseid rules the hellish planet of Apokolips where pain and power mandates. From here, he orchestrates the search by his minions for the “anti-life equation,” providing him the strength to take over the universe and destroy all free will. His machinations often bring him into conflict with Superman and other DC heroes. His power and pure evilness have made him a stalwart in the super villain pantheon—standing out as one of Superman’s greatest foes.
