A 16.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, 3.3-inch OLED touchscreen, SteadShot image stabilization, and 0.1-second autofocus: should we keep going? Oh course. Sony’s latest digital shooter, the Cyber-shot TX55, garners a number of new innovative technologies, including the new “By Pixel Super Resolution” mode, which allows users to extend the optical zoom from 5X to 10X without lowering the pixel count. And that’s all while shooting high-quality still or full HD videos.

The new Cyber-shot camera is also the first in the series to sport a “Picture Effect” mode, allowing photogs the opportunity to push their artistic limits without the use of any editing software. The seven effects options include HDR Painting, Rich-tone Monochrome, Miniature, Toy Camera, Partial Color, Pop Color and Soft High-key. Just in time for back to school, Sony’s Cyber-Shot TX55 will be available this September for $350.
