Sony’s already came out and said it plans on expanding the Spider-Man universe, even contemplating spin-off films for some of the franchise’s villains. Though we’ve heard rumblings of a possible Sinister Six appearance being planned for one of the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man sequels. Whether it’ll be the third or fourth film is undetermined. However, actor Chris Cooper who plays Norman Osborn had some info to share with MTV on the upcoming TASM2, claiming we’ll see the introduction of the rebooted Osborn, as well as the foundation of “something more.”
His words: “You’ll see — an extremely odd introduction, which apparently will lead to something more. They sent me some material. But they said also that this Spider-Man is its own Spider-Man. We’re just kind of starting from the beginning.”
Sounds like the Sinister Six is a given at this point, especially with the studio planning super far ahead to compete with Fox (X-Men) and Paramount (The Avengers). Is it a good idea? Guess it all depends on the execution.
