For the casual consumers who aren’t aware and the mobilephiles who completely forgot: Mobile World Congress 2012 is in full effect. Even though we’re only on the second day of the international smartphone expo, BGR’s already reported what it claims to be “exclusive details surrounding Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S III smartphone.” At the forefront is a bigger and wider display, along with a powerful CPU under the hood.

Here’s BGR’s official specs rumor breakdown:

– 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor
– 4.8-inch “full HD” 1080p resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio display
– A 2-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera
– Ceramic case
– 4G LTE
– Android 4.0

Well, aside from the touchscreen and quad-core CPU, doesn’t seem like much to be excited about. Hopefully Samsung has a couple of more goods lined-up for its third-gen Galaxy handset. You already know we’ll be keeping tabs on this beauty.

HTC’s also made some noise with its One Series phones, which all look very promising with the highest of specs and Beats By Dre audio technology integration. And we can’t forget about the speculation of Android teasing its new Jelly Bean mobile OS. We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments at MWC.
