But every ancient gadget progressively transforms into a collector’s item, and according to numerous eBay auctions taking place at the moment, the first-gen Apple handset has joined the club. Business Insider discovered a number of iPhone 2G models up for sale on the online consumer-to-consumer site around the $2,000 mark (and higher). Hopefully you kept yours in mint condition, or just letting it appraise value over time. Lord knows how much the first batch of iPhone 5 units will run for in the near future. It pays to be an iPhone collector, literally.
