Looks like talks between Edward Norton and Marvel went beyond sour as director Joss Whedon and crew decided to move forward with another actor to play The Hulk in “The Avengers” film. Norton’s agent responded to these claims with such angst:
“This offensive statement from Kevin Feige at Marvel is a purposefully misleading, inappropriate attempt to paint our client in a negative light…This seemed to us to be a financial decision but, whatever the case, it is completely their prerogative, and we accepted their decision with no hard feelings.”
CHUD reports retired actor Joaquin Phoenix is being offered the role, but nothing has been set in stone. Sound like Marvel is penny pinching.
