Aspiring designers and product creators can now take environmental precautions when assembling their next major project thanks to the new Nike Making app. The iOS-exclusive program allows users to make “informed decisions about the environmental impacts of the materials they choose” through an “easy-to-use” interface capable of ranking materials used in four apparel-based environment areas: including water, chemistry, energy, and waste. Nike’s comparative system rates each material on points, which then gives designers creative control over the sustainability of their pieces and assists with understanding their choices.
