Jurassic Park 4 has been in the works for nearly a decade, but with the death of creator and author Michael Crichton, the third installment seemed certain to be the final in the franchise. Looks like director Joe Johnston found new DNA. According to an interview with BoxOffice.com, Johnston is working on the prolonged sequel, and indicates the foruth film will be the introduction to a new trilogy in the series:
Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen. It breaks away from the first three—it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way. That’s pretty much all I can tell you.
What film franchise from the 90’s isn’t getting two trilogy treatments these days?
