Rise of the Tomb Raider Reveal
The trailer for the Tomb Raider sequel features Lara Croft in therapy, most likely after the events of the first game that brought her to this point. It’s weird to think of a video game heroine seeking professional mental health. Why? Literally, every game has trauma that could put everyone from Master Chief to Mario in a psychiatrist’s office. However, Square Enix’s reimagined Lara Croft is a much vulnerable character than before, a direction that proved to pay off in last year’s reboot. Although lacking in gameplay footage, many of this year’s E3 reveals didn’t have much action attached to them. And at least we can get excited about the return of the most-known female lead ever in gaming history.
