Company President Osamu Masuko confirmed with AutoCar.co.uk that Mitsubishi has plans of releasing a green version of the EVO XI model with a hybrid powertrain sometime in the next three years. According to the details, the sports car will tackle a “diesel-electric hybrid powertrain” that will save the vehicle from “tightening emissions regulations while preserving its trademark mid-range shove.” Another upgrade comes in the form of an all-new S-AWC four-wheel drive system that features breaking, steering, and traction control. “We will start work on the project next year, and it will be ready within three…I have set the goal of developing a sporting car featuring electric power,” says Masuko. We’re curious to see the final version, as well as its performance ratings.
