Last month, the world awaited Microsoft to announce its smaller-scaled Surface tablet, which the media dubbed the Surface Mini. As we all witnessed, the reveal never took place, as the PC giant opted to introduce its newest flagship slate in the form of the Surface Pro 3. The announcement threw off tech experts and led many to believe the long-rumored laptop/tablet hybrid was pretty much cancelled. Though the latest revelations seen in the Surface Pro 3 User Guide suggest the device is still alive.
Devoted Microsoft-tracker Paul Thurrot tweeted out that there were several references to the Surface Mini in the Pro 3 user guide, with CNET and several other outlets confirming the report. “If you want to do more than take a quick handwritten note, unlock Surface Mini…When you do, you’ll get the full functionality on OneNote,” one mention states.
Seeing how the lower-end tablet market is a huge area of interest for the company, there is a strong possibility we could see the delayed tablet released sometime during the holiday season. Or so we hope.
