Mercedes Unveils New B-Klasse Sedan

While Mercedes won’t be showing the new 2012 B-Class till next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the German manufacturer has divulged some details, as well as the first official image of the compact sedan. Built wider and shorter than the previous class, the latest Mercedes-Benz will come in petrol-powered form, with the base model B version sporting a 1.6-liter engine that generates 122 hp and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, while the B200 offers 156 hp and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft).

There will also be diesel-powered B 180 CDI and B 200 CDI versions that come with a 4-cylinfer 1.8-liter engine, producing 109 hp and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, and 136 hp and 300 Nm or torque: respectively. Expect to hear more on the sporty 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Klasse at next week’s Franfurt Motor Show.
