Lytro Light Field Camera

Sure, it resembles a high-tech lipstick case, but don’t be fooled by the Lytro’s sleek and portable form factor. It’s capable of snapping high-quality photos and can adjust the focus to your liking later on. Huh? You read correctly. An F/2 lends with an 8x zoom is attached to the front, while the bottom features a 1.46-inch LCD touchscreen that you can swipe through to revisit recently shot images. There’s also a slider for zoom purposes, two buttons (power and shutter), and a micro-USB port hidden behind a flap. The light-field camera weighs only 8oz. and stretches at 4.4-inches long, which accommodates for both style and mobility. Lytro is taking pre-orders on its website, offering 16GB ($499) and 8GB ($399) models in three different colors. Would you trade in your point-and-shoot, or ditch the 8MP camera on your smartphone for this? We’re contemplating it.
