In his 10 years in the league, Lebron “King” James has never been the cover athlete to any of the major basketball game franchises. Well, 2K Sports managed to score the 4-time NBA MVP, announcing the Miami Heat star as its NBA 2K14 cover star. We’re not sure how much money the gaming giant had to dish out to secure Lebron’s photo talents, but we’re pretty sure some serious coin was dropped.
2K Sports will be offering additional incentives to those who pre-order the game: including 10,000 extra VC to upgrade their My Players, which is a “signature Lebron James” skill that can be added to your personal baller. On top of that, consumers will receive extra content for the Path to Greatness mode and unlock King James in Blacktop mode.
NBA 2K14 hits stores on October 1 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, plus it’ll be available on the PS4 and Xbox One launch dates. View the official announcement trailer and Xbox 360 cover below.
