Warner Bros. is going all out with the Suicide Squad film and putting together an all-star cast of Hollywood’s most established and emerging actors for the DC adaption. The project has Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jesse Eisenberg, and Viola Davis all attached, while recently picking up Joel Kinnaman (Robocop) for a role. But with several other actors dropping out due to conflicting schedules, producers have yet to lock in someone to take on the role of Deathstroke. One name being thrown around at the moment: Joe Manganiello.
The True Blood star is being courted to play the baddie assassin, who’s rumored to become a breakout character in the film and work as an assassin for Onslaught. Apparently, he will come face-to-face with the Suicide Squad and take them out early on. Deathstroke’s also said to be in costume with a stealth-oriented getup and standout weaponry including a sword and several automatics.
Suicide Squad is production at the moment and will open in theaters August 5, 2016.
