A report from Nikkei Asian Review claims Apple will release the iPhone 6 this September—in two different sizes—both featuring hi-res displays. Suppliers are said to be ramping up production to meet the release window with Nikkei claiming screen sizes will be 4.7- and 5.5-inches. For comparison sake, the iPhone 5 and 5S sports a four-inch screen.

Resolution is also mentioned to be significantly higher. Apple’s remained the only major phone manufacturer to boast such a small display, though the recent rollout of larger panels from the latest round of Android devices (HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5) could force the mobile maker to think differently.

Could this be the huge upgrade iFiends have been yearning for the past two years? If true, then expect Apple to have some other unique additions for the next-gen iPhones.
