More supposed screenshots of Apple’s upcoming iOS 8 software update continue to leak online with images of the company’s long-rumored health and fitness app, Healthbook, surfacing online courtesy of 9to5Mac. The photos reveal some of the program’s unique capabilities: including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, steps taken, and more.
Different categories are present to store personal info, with the long list of categories suggesting the next-gen iPhone will sport intelligent sensors that allow the handset to track all health and physical activity. Take a look at the leaked shots below.
One of the more unique areas found here is the oxygen saturation feature, implying that users will be able to monitor breathing quality, which looks to be extremely useful for pregnant women and stress mongers. There is also an “Emergency Card” option to store several other pieces of info such as user name, doctor info, medications, and more.
Fitness tracking companies like Fitbit, Jawbone, and Nike might have some stiff competition ahead of it. No word on when iOS 8 or Healthbook will be available for all iDevices.
