Developed by a dyslexic graduate of Standford, the Intel reader is a powerful gadget for visually impaired readers and those diagnosed with dyslexia. It enables the user to scan entire pages of text to audio for immediate playback or later review. With the ability to capture text from nearby restaurants to a book sitting in your lap, text can be played via speakers or read on the device. Intel’s Reader packs a high-res camera and Intel Atom processor, allowing the device to quickly and accurately captures massive amounts of text. Sounds dandy doesn’t it? The Intel Reader could most definitely help those whose vision is impaired. It’s just a shame the price tag of $1,5000 leaves the consumer a bit iffy.
