Gina Carano starring in The Expendable 3

The sequel hasn’t even it theaters yet and there’s already talk of The Expendables 3. After receiving rave reviews for her acting debut as a covert ops specialist in the action thriller Haywire, MMA bombshell Gina Carano is riding a huge wave of success. The newly transformed action starlet recently spoke about her new acting opportunities, dishing on how producer Sylvester Stallone wanted her for a role in The Expendables 2 sequel and the possibility of being involved in The Expendables 3:

“Is there going to be an Expendables 3?…Yeah, I think Sylvester Stallone was really considering me for one of the roles in Expendables 2, but they needed a girl from China because that’s where they were going to be. They needed a Chinese girl, so I didn’t fit the bill for that one. I’m sure I’m on some people’s radars, especially on the Mixed Martial Arts websites, so just stay positive and put out some good energy for me.”

We see an awesome chick fight in the near future between Carano and newbie Nan Yu, and with The Expendables 2 due for a huge take at the box office, we can expect The Expendables 3 sometime in the next two years.

In other Expendables 2 news, the film is still being scrutinized for its PG-13 rating, which was confirmed by Stallone via AICN. The rating change has led to huge protests online, with one fan starting a petition to have Lionsgate and Millennium Films change the film back to an R rating. Expendable Terry Crews responded to the mayhem defending the rating change and promised the same over-the-top action as the first film, stating the following:

I feel your pain about the EX2 PG-13. But do you really think we’ve all gone soft as baby thighs? No sirs. You will love it. Trust ya boy.

I kill more baddies in the first 3 min of EX2 than I did the whole last movie. Don’t let the smooth taste fool you. This suckers got kick.

Hopefully the PG-13 rating doesn’t hurt its box office pull because we’re all pulling for The Expendables 3 right now. The addition of Carano only builds the anticipation.
