8. Seed and Cotton Planter
Inventor: Henry Blair
Year: 1834
Even the history books have struggled to dig up dirt on Blair’s background. All that’s known is he’s been credited for one of the most vital pieces of machine during the slavery era. The seed and cotton planter allowed farmers to plant corn at a faster rate, saving time and manpower during the process. Fun fact: Blair’s also known for being the second black inventor to have been given a patent for his achievements. Kudos!
