The recent MMO that is part of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise, known as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has just recently hit a major milestone achieving over 2.5 million paying players that are currently registered with the game. All information was revealed by a line at the end of the newly released trailer for Eternal Bond. This stated that 500,000 players since April’s decisive figure of 2 million players have joined and been playing quite frequently. This comes at a great time as the first expansion to the game is to come out early next year, so players may want to prepare their characters for the new add-ons that will be put into play.
The Dreams of Ice expansion will be adding brand new jobs, as well as dungeons which should send this already huge number of players skyrocketing with brand new possibilities. Overall, while the number of currently active players cannot be discerned, it can be said that Square Enix has definitely made its way back up in the gamer community with this MMO.
