We have all had those moments on Facebook where someone posts about the loss of a loved one, or some other similar sad post, and the like button does not seem appropriate. Who enjoys chiming in on such a depression subject? Facebook may finally be truly considering a solution to this awkward situation: the dislike button.
Mark Zuckerberg said in an interview Thursday, “We are considering it.” The Facebook CEO went on to say that he is not a fan of the idea of a dislike button, but that someone “can always just comment” on a post instead of using a button. His primary concern is the button being used as a means of shaming others. Despite the reservations, higher-ups are having the discussion.
We cannot expect to see the thumbs pointing down in the newsfeed any time soon, but this certainly gains the thumbs up!
