Many wondered when Facebook would introduce Instagram video support to compete with Twitter’s popular Vine app. Well, the social network has stepped up and made the announcement today, which is now integrated into updated versions of its iOS and Android apps. Users will notice a video camera icon next to the image capture icon that when enabled allows for the recording of up to 15 seconds of video. All clips will appear on one’s main feed.

The big difference between Vine and Instagram’s latest feature: there’s a delete button for the latter. In addition, it also has 13 filters and other editing options. Instagram is said to have 16 billion photos shared on the service, while tallying 1 billion likes each day. Oh yes, the service is also used by more than 130 million people monthly. Will Instagram’s new feature push the company even higher than its competitors? Test it out and make the call.
