Nokia X

We never thought the day would come when Nokia would jump on the Android bandwagon. But low and behold, the Finnish telecommunications staple has made the leap, introducing its own line of Google-operated smartphones. The X series features a Windows Phone-like skin that operates on a forked version of Android. However, the devices will only provide access to Microsoft and Nokia services, while offering the ability to sideload Android apps from APK files. Granted it hurts to see HTC steal a page from Apple’s design book, the Taiwanese smartphone maker is doing so with class, while adding some extra flash to its mid-tier handset. The Desire 816 tackles on a vibrant-colored chassis that screams iPhone 5C, though it manages to keep intact the affluent form and detailing found on the HTC One. Photography mongers should find solace in its 13MP rear camera and awesome 5MP front-facing camera, which opens the lane to snap high-quality selfies.
