This one came out of nowhere. Rumors are swirling of “Star Trek” newbie Chris Pine holstering the shield of Marvel’s own Captain America. According to CinemaSpy on February 12, Paramount and Marvel are apparently close to signing a deal with the up-and-comer to tackle the role of Steve Rogers. Now it seems like the rumors might not be true, with a source close to the actor saying that he is just a potential candidate, and not a front runner for the film. The First Avenger: Captain America is projected to hit theaters July 22, 2011.
