Gearing up for the Fall 2014 semester, Apple’s gone on to update its iTunes U application by promoting a number of new useful capabilities: including the ability for teachers to create courses directly on the iPad. In addition, the company is also rolling out a new Discussions feature, which allows students to start topics and collaborate with others on the iOS slate as well. Teachers will be able to participate in forums and moderate discussions as well.

Used in thousands of educational institutions across the nation, iTunes U has over 750,000 individual learning materials made available for free, while allowing teachers to make and edit courses on the go. It also works with 75,000 educational apps and lets users add photos of videos to lessons using the iPad’s built-in camera. The future of education has arrived. Now if only every school was able to gift each student an iPad.
