Though he’s still recovering from knee surgery, NBA superstar Derrick Rose linked up with Adidas to announce his new collection of kicks: the D Rose 3. During the special screening of his documentary series, The Return of D Rose, the Chicago Bulls guard got choked up and shed a few tears while viewing the film. Rose reflected on the rough times his city has faced, which include a recent wave of murders and ongoing teacher strikes: “It’s truly a blessing. With all this stuff that’s going on in this city, a kid from Englewood got something positive going on. That makes me feel so good man,” Rose said. “The shoe is great, all this is great, but I can’t explain this. I can’t.” The D Rose 3 Collection launches on Rose’s birthday, October 4, for the asking price of $160. Here are a few shots from the press event.
