Some arguably call it the first FPS. Others simply remember it for being the most iconic combat simulator ever. Backed by a wireframe view running vector graphics to create the “first true three-dimensional game world,” Atari’s arcade classic let players utilize an overhead radar to find and destroy enemy tanks. The fact that the arcade cabinet was constructed to exude the feel of realistic tank driving gives it enough clout to be on this list. —AB
