Sneaking in under the radar at the time, Relic Entertainment’s neglected PC title is hailed as the greatest RTS ever amongst most gaming circles. Company of Heroes follows two command groups during the D-Day invasion—creating an immaculate real-time battlefield that embraced the WWII theme better than most FPS franchises. Having snagged several PC Game of the Year awards during its release, it set the bar ridiculously high for future RTS releases that has yet to matched. —JR
