Leaving behind a virtual legacy of covert ops and stealth excellence, the Splinter Cell served as a platform for one of Ubisoft’s highest-selling franchises of all time. Chaos Theory proved to the Sam Fisher’s most popular outing courtesy of its amazing co-op mode, jaw-dropping graphics and tight gameplay. The game provided a wonderful world to sneak around that encouraged players to prove their espionage skills in an intense campaign. It’s still considered one of the foremost leaders in video game stealth mechanics and continues to be viewed as one of the best games of the past 15 years. —JR
