Sony Pictures announced via Twitter the official release date for the 21 Jump Street rehash — August, 2011. Comedy butterball Jonah Hill (Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), as you know, is tapped to star and write the script, alongside Joe Gazzam and Michael Bacall. Hill stated the the remake will focus on “a group of people that go back to high school to deal with a drug problem.” With production starting sometime this year, and no “big” casting updates, seems like fans might be jumping towards other rehashed 80’s sitcoms.
