For nearly 7 years, Id Software’s heavily rumored action/horror title stood in “development hell.” But with Bethesda providing access to its future beta with the release of Wolfenstein: The New World, this year’s E3 could make for the perfect opportunity to formally announce and showcase Doom 4. Originally hinted at in 2007, the game had been scrapped and completely started from scratch since 2011, though not much has been heard until the recent beta news. Some believe Bethesda might launch the demo at the show. In any case, expect Doom 4 to be a topic of discussion at E3 2014, announced or not.
