April’s main squeeze and fellow human ally is absent for this reboot. A travesty, we know, especially since fans really like Casey’s character—an unkempt street-fighter with a temper that rivals Raphael’s, dishing out vigilante justice using his skills as a hockey player. Instead, April will be seen trotting around the Big Apple with her cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett). Fenwick is known to be an ambitious reporter, but also an essential yellow-belly in dangerous situations. Though according to Arnett, his character is given a personality shift thus becoming more of an ally to April, as well as the Turtles in the film. New and helpful personality or no, we’d still feel more comfortable about Casey helping April and the Turtles, than Vern.
