This Movie Doesn’t Look to Take Itself Seriously
The previews already give fans the impression that it’s doomed for failure based on many factors: most of them previously mentioned. Bay nearly F’d up the story, questionable casting choices, head-scratching character designs, low-quality visual effects and bad production history all seem to be working against the reboot. TMNT does promise action, but that could be in jeopardy of taking a backseat according to director Jonathan Liebesman. “We’re definitely into the action, but for me what’s more important than that is that it’s a story about brotherhood and friendship and responsibility,” states Liebesman. That’s all well and nice, but if that deviates from the impact between the showdown between the Turtles and Shredder, it poses a threat to devalue the impact the film will have on its intended demographic. God this movie sounds like a mess!
