It’s Freaking Michael Bay

There are great filmmakers, prolific filmmakers, and visionary filmmakers. And then there is Michael Bay. He is attached to this reboot in the position of producer, which is something of a blessing because as a director his only redeeming quality is that he is an expert in pyrotechnics (as evident in Transformers and Pearl Harbor). Yes, dude almost turned the TMNT mythology on its head when suggesting this reboot would give Leo, Donnie, Raph, and Mikey an extraterrestrial background. Thankfully, Bay isn’t directing this film. Jonathan Liebesman is. Still, the fact that Bay’s name is synonymous with this movie is detracting a lot of us.
