Truth be told, no one foresaw the first-person stealth action title becoming a GOTY contender. But under the direction of Arkane Studios, Dishonored superseded all expectations—delivering great open-ended gameplay and beautiful detailing from its fictional steampunk-inspired world to its awesome upgrades. A ton of challenges and side paths add to its replay value.

The cries of fanatic Master Chief zealots were heard across Xbox Live when word broke out longtime helmer Bungie wasn’t developing the highly anticipated sequel. Well, some might argue 343 Studios’ work on Halo 4 outshines the previous sequels. An engaging campaign mode combined with refined multiplayer mechanics makes it a must-own for all 360 and FPS fans. It’s incredible AI and beautiful design presentation deserves props, too.
