Viola Davis Suicide Squad

In a recent report by The Wrap, it has become known that Viola Davis, Warner Bros. choice pick for the role of Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad, is nearing a multi-picture deal with the production company. While her role of Waller has yet to be confirmed, Davis herself suggested that there is only the matter of scheduling around her other commitments in order for her to officially take on the role in David Ayer’s film.

With this new report of a multi-picture deal, it makes sense to think that Suicide Squad would be just one of many appearances of Waller in future DC movies. Will Smith, who is confirmed to star in the film, has made it known that Davis is his pick for the role of Waller as well, alongside the likes of Tom Hardy, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Jai Courtney.

Filming is set to begin in Toronto in April, and should Davis commit to the role of Waller as well as future DC films, she will serve as the “handler” of, “a group of supervillains who take on black ops jobs for a secret government agency in exchange for amnesty.” For now, fans will have to wait on scheduling confirmation from Davis on the role of Waller before any further plans are made for the future of the Suicide Squad film.
