TMNT Remake set for Christmas 2013

So you’ve heard about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot for years, with all development being halted due to creative issues. Paramount finally has its act together and has pegged Michael Bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes, to take on the film, with Wrath of the Titans helmer Jonathan Liebesman attached to the director’s chair. Not necessarily our first choice for either, as Dunes previous attempts (Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street) nearly ruined the credibility of those franchises. But it’s either that or wait another decade for a TMNT Remake.

The latest film update comes in the form of its new release date: Christmas 2013. Paramount recently made the announcement.

Earlier this year, we heard rumblings of Batman: Arkham City developers, Rocksteady, rebooting the franchise’s video game series (read here)—a generalization based on reports from PGN. There’s no better game creator out there to take on the task. Maybe Treasure, but that’s beside the point. Sadly, the rumors were debunked by Rocksteady.

You never know? Maybe we’ll see a tie-in game to go along with the film release.
