Video Games Blame Ron Jeremy

Child Psychological Trauma

Of all people to throw shade at the video game industry for exposing nudity and traumatizing youthful minds, porn star Ron Jeremy did just that while in attendance at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show. Dude became an activist for anti-pornography (nope, not making this up), turning his anger towards third-party companies claiming videogames have corrupted children when it comes to sex: not the adult industry. His argument is based off explicit scenes from games like God of War and Grand Theft Auto. Who takes this dude seriously? Children will always gain access to porno much quicker than an M-rated game. Remember: no child is allowed to buy the game without a parent. Though there’s always a way around that. Case in point it’s the parents job to monitor their kids…not the game companies.

Video Games Blamed on Divorce

Divorce

“Can you put that down so we can go to bed?” “You been playing that all night?” “Listen, it’s either Madden or me!” If you’re in a relationship with someone who isn’t big on gaming, then these phrases come with the territory. But has an infatuation with gaming cost you your marriage? Divorce Online marketing manager Mark Keenan claims yes. His study looked at 200 unreasonable behavior petitions filed by women. World of Warcraft and Call of Duty were two games specifically singled out. Since its inception, MMOs have always received heavy criticism for featuring heavily addictive gameplay, some even claiming it to be more addictive than cocaine. So if you’re really that serious about condemning a failed marriage over a game, just remember things could be a whole lot worse. Like wedding a meth-head junkie worse.
