Overall Impression
What’s so great about the online FPS is that anyone can pick up and play, plus the learning curve is ridiculously easy. Three games in and you’re at an intermediate level. The handful of modes we tested in the beta was addictive and fun, plus the map editor adds an endless number of layers to gameplay. We’re not expecting ShootMania Storm to become the next Halo or Black Ops 2 on the e-sports scene, though the title has gained some huge momentum over the past months, especially at PAX East. And with the final product set to deliver much more than the open beta, PC gamers might have found a new multiplayer FPS to latch onto till the holiday season.
