Variety reports RoboCop star Peter Weller has joined the cast of the Star Trek sequel. Weller’s no stranger to the franchise, as the actor has appeared in two episodes of the TV series Star Trek: Enterprise playing the character of John Frederick Paxton. Even though the Enterprise character dies, there remains speculation of Weller reprising the role for the blockbuster film. Other rumors have She’s Out of My League hottie Alice Eve jumping onboard the Enterprise as a new character as well. Could we be looking at Captain Kirk’s new love interest? Maybe. Star Trek 2 will be shot in 3D and is set to release on May 17, 2013.
