One day after the Android Market was compromised with malicious apps, Microsoft looks to convert Androidphiles into Windows conformists by offering free WP7 devices to the victims willing to share their horror stories. Windows Phone extremist Ben Rudolph (AKA Ben the PC Guy) put together the social marketing stratagem, but Microsoft is only offering FIVE people the opportunity to win a free handset. Seeing how Android and iOS practically run 80 percent of the mobile market, Microsoft was bound to start playing hardball sooner or later, but it’s highly unlikely that this will boost WP7 sales. Anyways, those who have had their Android accounts hacked and are looking to make the mobile OS transition can share the hashtag #droidrage on Twitter to join the advertising campaign. Just pray they give you a Mango-based smartphone.
