Bored at work? Need something to kill your time on the PC? The Internet Archive has just uploaded over 2,400 MS-DOS games to play: for free. Classics like Sim City, Wolfenstein 3D, The Oregon Trail, Scorched Earth, Maniac Mansion, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?, Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen 5, and even Mario’s Game Gallery are all made available.

Gamers who’ve tried playing MS-DOS games on Microsoft’s pre-Windows operation have notice such titles don’t function properly. The Internet Archive handles the heavy lifting by running games inside the browser window via EM-DOSBOX emulator. Keep in mind the emulator is in beta, so several issues exist. Be then again, can you really complain about free PC games? Didn’t think so.
