In their first step out of the smartphone realm (sorta), HTC has introduced the Re:, an action camera, similar to the GoPro. The Re: is unique in its shape and size–shaped like a tiny, handheld periscope; roughly 10cm long, with a diameter of about 2.5cm. The device is also waterproof, allowing you to take it just about anywhere.
But there’s more–the HTC Re: isn’t only convenient, it’s also simple to use. A short click takes a 16-megapixel snapshot, while holding the button takes a video. The data then wirelessly syncs to your smartphone for later viewing or immediate sharing.
HTC hopes to transform the way we document our lives. No longer will we experience moments through the lens of a camera, or the screen of a smartphone. We can be in the moment while also recording it.
