Google Now update

The search engine giant’s popular Google Now app just received an awesome new update that supports over 40 third-party apps. Google Now, which you all know, provides personalized search results in the form of “cards” such as personal alerts and alternate routes via Google Maps. Luckily the service is branching out and being offered for several other programs outside of Google’s Android suite of apps.

Ford, eBay, Lyft, Pandora, and numerous others have now been integrated with work with the latest update. Notifications will appear if you have both the Google and third-party apps installed. “In the morning, catch up on news of the day with cards from The Guardian,” the company explained in a blog post. “On your commute, Pandora can give you recommendations for music to play, based on what you like, or you can be reminded to complete your daily French lesson on Duolingo.”

Whether or not the update is also supported on Android Wear is unknown, though it would make for an awesome feature on the wearable platform. Google goes on to confirm that support the new apps “over the new few weeks” and more developers will be added in the near future. Sound good to us!
