Despite rumors of Activision making the PlayStation 4 its lead platform for future Call of Duty games, the publisher looks to continue its relationship with Microsoft by releasing Advanced Warfare DLC on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 first—with PS4, PS3, and PC to follow later on.

The announcement came alongside a number of new releases, which was reported by Microsoft’s own Xbox Wire website, leading many to believe the Xbox One might actually become the lead next-gen platform for the FPS shooter franchise. Though industry insider Thuway tweeted this wasn’t the case and that Sony’s console would carry that role, while stating that the DLC pacage was part of a marketing deal.

Keep in mind Thuway has been known to be an Xbox One aggressor and often shows much favoritism to the PS4, even tweeting “I hate the Xbox One so much, I got some information on upcoming titles.” So take his insight with a grain of salt. But in terms of download content remaining exclusive to Microsoft’s consoles, only makes sense since Xbox Live remains the most popular online gaming service out. Wouldn’t you agree?
