Remember Blackberry? The guys who introduced the keyboard to the mobile phone? The company that made smartphone history has become history…but maybe not for long.

Last week, Blackberry released plans to introduce unconventional devices once a year, starting with last week’s launch of the square-shaped Passport, according to a Reuters report. So far, the Passport has received mixed reviews – some praise the device for its functionality, others complain about its width, noting that single-handed use is nearly impossible. Surprisingly, despite the Passport’s untraditional shape, 200,000 units were sold in its first week alone.

Head of Blackberry’s device arm Ron Louks explained that, “When it comes to design and being a little bit disruptive, we want that ‘wow’ factor.” Well Louks, you’ve certainly got our attention.
